2009 IS HERE!

Ok so 2008 brought us many blessings and many challenges. The biggest blessing is Eli. He is almost 5 months old and healthy. Big brother Wyatt is doing great and is growing like crazy. January always starts with bang since Wyatt's birthday is Jan. 4. We had a big 3/4 year old party for him on Friday Jan. 2 and oh boy was it fun. Our holidays were spent at home with most of our family. Wyatt had a great time opening presents on Christmas day.

The car business was a huge struggle in 2008 although we did have more sales in 2008 than we did in 2007. 2009 doesn't look much better, but we will wait and see. Being in business for yourself you really understand that so much is out of your hands and we have looked at this opportunity as a test of our Faith. God will provide! My best customers have been people from church who have blessed me with the majority of my sales. I've started a new part-time job contracting for start-up software consulting business called Wirevibe. I worked with a lot of the Wirevibe team at Sprint and know them and know they are top notch.

Although my candidate didn't win the election I am very excited about the new President and his mission to get things done. I'm also impressed that the sitting President has allowed the President Elect to take such an active role giving public addresses even before he takes office. I also have to give The President Elect credit on his economic plan, especially the tax cuts. I especially like it that several Democrats in the House and Senate do not like the tax cuts.

I will try to post at least once a month and keep our friends and family posted on how the Grubbs family is doing. You can also find both Holly and I on Facebook, so give us a shout and be our friends. :)

Have a great 2009 and God Bless!

Our sweet family of 4 is adjusting to life without sleep... :) Really we are doing great. Our bible class at church is bringing us food... Eli and Wyatt are both healthy...and I am still recovering but able to sit up and walk a little better each day. Wyatt is such a great big brother. He enjoys helping change diapers as long as there are no surprises waiting in the diaper in that case he runs for fear of it smelling! He is also the professional "burper" in our family. He has just the right pat on the back for Eli even better than mommy. Many warned me about the adjustment of the older sibling and how it is a difficult transition but for us we've been blessed once again with a loving big brother.

On another note, school started today for most everyone I know that is a teacher. In some ways, I wondered if I would miss the hustle and bustle of the first day with everyone starting off a new year, but reality set in when I heard the traffic at the elementary school behind our house this morning and someone making an all call on the speaker and I not giving school a second thought quickly turned over and went back to sleep!

He's Here!

Eli Saam Grubbs joined us Friday morning August 15th at 10:50am and is doing great. We had our first out of hospital doctors appointment and all is good! What a blessing! I did forget about the lack of sleep, wow. I'm really tired. Enjoy these pictures, we look forward to seeing/hearing from you all very soon.

Just a few minutes old!

Well, it's been a year since I blogged and many things have happened. Our big news is that our baby boy, Eli Saam will be born on Friday, August 15th. I am ready for him to be here. If anyone wants to know, I encourage you to have a baby in January rather than August. I am so thankful for air conditioning. What a blessing!

Currently, I am on bed rest until Friday due to swelling but as long as my feet are up we are good. Many have asked and my blood pressure is fine just a little swelling.

Wyatt is very excited about "his baby" coming. He has helped get the room ready and been shopping with us to Babies R Us. He's ready to meet his little brother at the hospital.

Other fun news, both of my sisters have little girls. Susan had her precious baby girl, Jamie, in April. 8 weeks after having a baby she competed in the world Taekwondo tournament and she is now the World Champion in weapons. Stephanie had her precious little girl, Abbie, on Aug. 5th. Steph and Abbie are both doing well. So, our family has been busy with babies.

Chris' business continues to grow. God continues to bless us in many ways.

Does anyone still read our blog?

If you are reading then you must be a blogger too. Since it's been 7 months since we posted anything I figured a few updates might be nice.

Wyatt celebrated his 3rd birthday. Holly started her first year as an elementary school Assistant Principle in Mesquite ISD. We found out we were expecting baby number 2. Chris continues his new business, selling pre-owned cars via the internet. Holly celebrates her 30th.

Did you get that one item sandwiched in the middle about expecting a baby? Well we found out yesterday 3/31 that we will be having boy number 2. Due date is Aug. 23. We are very excited and feel very blessed that the baby looks like all is in proper working order. Thanks be to God for his bountiful blessings!

We continue to pray for the business Chris is pursuing and would love to help you all get a new vehicle. Please check out the Grubbs Autos website and send him a note.

Holly's school year is going well and has had many opportunities to practice what she has learned during her training and education over the last four years. She loves working with her staff and students and looks forward to many future opportunities as an elementary school administrator.

Wyatt is doing awesome, he continues to grow and learn new words/phrases/songs. His new favorite songs to sing are God Bless America, The Star Spangled Banner, and he recites the Pledge whenever we see a flag. It has been interesting to see how he loves to spend time with the men in his life. It's amazing to see the connection between the boys. We look forward to his continued growth and pray that God will continue to bless him with health.

Here are some pictures from the holidays and Stephanie's wedding.
