We're home...

The past few weeks we've been on the go. We went to Nashville for Thanksgiving. We spent this with my dad, Amy, Matt, & Grandmother. The next weekend we went to Illinois for Chris' grandma's funeral. (See post below) This past weekend we went back to Tennessee for a close friend's funeral. While the situation is sad, the funeral was a great celebration of Keith's life. It was uplifting and encouraging as a Christian. It is such comfort knowing that God takes us home to be with him in a special place he has made just for us. The funeral was on Friday and on Saturday we went to my Grandmother's house.

Grandmother didn't know we were coming. I thought we would bring her some Christmas cheer and surprise her. We did. It was so fun! We bought a poinsetta and took it to her house. On the way, I called her and made sure she was home. I told her she would be getting a special delivery very soon. As we arrived at her house, we got out of the car. I gave Wyatt the poinsetta and he was standing at the door. Chris knocked on the door and we hid. Grandmother told me that someone was at the door so we hung up and she answered the door. Wyatt was holding up the plant so you couldn't see his face. She said, "What a cute little boy," as she looked around for the adult. She had no idea it was Wyatt. It was funny...we came from around the corner and the biggest smile I have ever seen appeared on my Grandmother's face. It was priceless. We spent the day with her decorating her house for Christmas and doing little things around the house that she needed done. It was a great day! That night we drove back to dad's. Saturday night was luminary night in Brentwood. All the streets were covered with luminaries. It was beautiful and definitely put me in the Christmas spirit.

Today we flew home. Wyatt did so good on the airplane. You never know how those trips are going to go. We unpacked and added to our already large amount of laundry to be done. However, I was so tired I laid down to take a 4 hour nap! I guess I was tired! :) Tonight we baked Christmas cookies! We made cracker cookies and oreo/cream cheese balls (recipes from my friend Stephanie) . I hope they are good! We'll find out tomorrow as they are cooling in the refrigerator.

How sweet of you to surprise you Grandma like that! So fun!

I'm glad that you had a good trip to Nashville. We had a feeling you guys would be there. :)

I remember those yummy cookies that Stephanie made (with the saltines). Think you could send me the recipe?
