Another trip to the doctor:

Last night, Wyatt pointed to his ear and said, "Hurt, hurt." It broke my heart into pieces. For a little boy who doesn't talk very much, he clearly spoke how he felt. I couldn't do a thing about it except hold his ear and rock him to sleep. This morning we went to the doctor and Wyatt has an ear infection in his left ear. We're glad that is all that it is, but I didn't like hearing that little voice look up at me with his big blue eyes and say hurt.

By the way, Monday was the school board meeting, and I am officially an assistant principal. There were also 3 teachers from my current campus (Tammy, Jackie, and Anna) that came and 2 from my new campus (they said they were there so they would start out on a good note - ha ha). My new principal was there along with her husband and Chris, Wyatt, and Vicki helped to celebrate the official occasion as well.

Chris' business is going well. He will be up and running soon. There is so much paperwork to do and so many little details, but he is almost there. Keep him in your prayers as he begins this new path!

TODAY!

It was an emotional roller coaster! I took my students to the Rangers Ballpark on a field trip. I received a phone call that said I didn't get the AP position at one of the schools I had interviewed for. I wasn't too disappointed as my top pick was still lingering out there. I enjoyed the day with my students and Chris and Wyatt. They came on the field trip too. It was a fun day with them. I'll post pictures of Wyatt later. I got back to school and my principal did everything she could to avoid me. I knew it wasn't good....and I was frustrated. So, I packed up 6 cabinets and 2 bookshelves in my room of stuff that I wanted to bring home and had students helping me take it to my car. The secretary came out and my principal came out wandering what I was doing. I simply said taking a few things home. I was done and went back to my room. At 2:30 here comes my principal and asks me to come to the office. We sit down and she starts asking me about this other school. I just knew she was bracing me for a huge let down. I begin explaining and in walks the principal of the school that I really wanted to go to with a huge bouquet of red roses in this beautiful arrangement. I jumped up and started screaming, "She picked me! She picked me!" I have been recommended for the assistant principal position at Floyd Elementary in Mesquite. I am very excited! I have to meet with the superintendent next week and then be confirmed at the board meeting. Thanks for all of your prayers. God has placed me at a wonderful school where I know I can be an example for him.

An update...

Last night, Wyatt hit his head on the concrete. It swelled up into a knot above his right eyebrow. It looked horrible. I called my brother who is a doctor and talked with him and Wyatt seems to be fine. It is such an awful feeling to watch your child hurt.

On another note, Wyatt went to the Aquarium today with his buddies. He had fun and makes the most adorable fish face! :) Very cute...

Interviews, well I have been on 3. I had one Mon, Tues, and today. I didn't get the one on Monday. It just wasn't the right fit. The others should be in touch with me tomorrow. We'll see how it goes....I have to keep telling myself that God has a plan. I really see myself at one of the schools. I know I could make a positive difference there, but what I think and what God thinks might be different. :)

Till tomorrow...
