Our summer trip to Atlanta & Tennessee
It was a fun road trip! Wyatt did great! We went to Atlanta to visit my stepbrother, Dr. Todd. I hadn't seen him in quite awhile. He is so fun to talk with and hang out. We had a great time catching up, taking pictures in his front yard, and going for a walk around his neighborhood looking at all the neat homes! Thanks, Uncle Todd for letting us stay with you!
We also went for my sister and brother in law's Tae Kwon Do tournament. They both did very well placing 1st or 2nd in each area they competed. Wyatt learned how to "Hey Yah." He has learned he can't kick without a turtle shell. Thanks Aunt Susan! :) I wasn't sure how I was going to teach him that one...
While we were in Atlanta my dad and Amy drove over, and we caught a Braves game at Turner Field. It was fun and Wyatt enjoyed the baseball but not all the noise.
After our weekend in Atlanta we went to spend a couple of days with Grandmother. Wyatt quickly renamed her, "Honey." It was precious. I couldn't figure out why he called her that except when she called Wyatt "honey." So, great-grandmother is now "honey" which melted her heart. She is doing very well for 84 years old.
After leaving "Honey's house" as Wyatt refers to it. We went to Granddaddy, Grammy, and Uncle Matt's home. Wyatt had lots of fun with Uncle Matt.
He also loves his new sunglasses from Granddaddy and a special thanks Grammy for the Organic Grape Juice and organic peanut butter cookies. They helped make our trip home easier!
All through the trip Wyatt kept saying, "I go home." I would have to say not today Wyatt we are... and we would go about that day. Today Wyatt said, "No go home." However, we are home for awhile enjoying the rest of our summer!

What attracts a fly...
My mom and stepdad are out of town. Being the great husband I have...he went over to mow their yard before they come home. It looks very nice if I do say so....he also came home and said that something smelled very bad at their house.
So, we went over there to see if we could determine exactly what was making this awful smell. Thoughts of a dead animal came to mind, dead fish in the fish tank, stinky garbage, but nothing could define the aroma that left the garage when I opened the garage door. Immediately, I gasped and knew this couldn't be good. I braced myself to see a dead animal. I used my nose and quickly found that yes...the freezer was not working.
I can not begin to tell you how stinky it was...the aroma had filled the inside of the house. I sent Chris (gagging) into the house with Wyatt and began to empty the freezer... thawed out. Flies somehow had this keen sense and began swarming around the rotten food. Fortunately, since they have horses there was fly spray and I was not afraid to use it. This was the WORST thing I have ever done in my life. It is worse than a poopy diaper, another child's poopy diaper, throwup from a kid, throwup from multiple kids in your classroom, and well...I can't begin to tell you the smell of ROTTEN food!
Chris brought a candle out to set beside the freezer. I wafted the smell of cucumber melon and began again to fill trashbags of rotten food. As the freezer was emptied, Chris brought 409 and cleaned the garage floor and inside of the freezer. The smell slowly changed but somehow lingered in my clothes. Again, this is the worst thing I have ever done. Lesson learned make sure your freezer stays plugged in with the door closed and working. If in doubt empty contents immediately.
The GOOD NEWS is that they now have a clean freezer, clean garage, and a good smelling house from ALL of the candles that have been lit. Yes, we blew them out before we left. I am not exactly sure what happened but hopefully the freezer will work again as now it is sitting CLEAN airing out. There are also 3 trashcans sitting ready for pickup on Tuesday. I don't recommend opening them. Thank God for trash men is all I can say. You know attracting flies is not recommended with rotten food.
Another post later of our recent trip to Atlanta and Tennessee!

Swing Batter Batter Swing...
Our summer has been full of baseball.
We went to the Ranger ACU Day out at the Ballpark.
We also ran into our favorite niece and nephew!
Then we went on a little road trip to St. Louis. The new Busch stadium is quite a site. It was fun taking a tour of the ballpark.
We then traveled up to see Grandpa and Grandma Grubbs. Wyatt enjoyed his time riding on the tractor...
and playing in the sprinkler with Hunter.
We had a nice visit...and stopped back by St. Louis to catch a game in Busch stadium.
It was a great road trip. Wyatt did so good in the truck. He was quite a trooper!
